Mushrooming with the family

As I said in my previous blog entry, my mum’s cousin Brian came down to visit us for the weekend. On sunday we went to my secret mushrooming spot in the New Forest with my dad, mum and sister. I thought he’d enjoy it as he was once apprentice game keeper however now lives a very suburban livestyle.

It was a bit of a trek through streams, bogs and bracken but we got there in the end.

There were certainly some interesting mushrooms around, some inedible but pretty nonetheless like these Candlestick Fungi.

We found my special spot after a little while and ended up with quite a little haul of hedgehogs and wood blewitts.

We fried some up when we got back and they were enjoyed by all.
